| Emaja Internet Gaming Enterprises were given an un-neighborly welcome to the Philippines from students of Angeles University Foundation Professional School. The demonstrations were non-violent albeit uncomfortable. Emmanuel Jacinto of Barangay Salapungan is the operator of the planned online gambling site and he stresses the fact that the demonstration was a misunderstanding. The misunderstanding had to do with the business’ proximity to the school. The guidelines of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation states that any business concerning the wagering of money must be in excess of two hundred meters from any school or church. The demonstrations disrupted Emmanuel Jacinto’s job in bringing the business into fruition, not to mention traffic. Demonstrators marched through the streets forcing all traffic to a halt. “Our business is legal and we do not violate any laws,” said Jacinto. Incidentally, the operator is correct in stating that his business is legal. The building that will house the business of an internet casino is located two hundred and six meters away from the Angeles University Foundation Professional School and was permitted by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation. The Emaja Internet Gaming Enterprise is going to be the third internet gambling site originating in the city and will offer such games as slot machines, baccarat and blackjack. Other games will come after the site opens and incentives for new customers and novices will be announced at a later date. Local police have reportedly been keeping an eye on the situation with Jacinto stating that the site would open for business soon.
